So, I decided to make some homemade Strawberry Jam today. It's a pretty simple recipe with only 4 ingredients (strawberries, honey, apple and lemon juice) but it takes a lot of time to prep jars, make the jam (boil and simmer it) and then bottle it. Once it's done though it is delicious and so much better than store-bought. I made 6 jars but Hubby already has one out to take to work :)
Snacks today were some almonds and a Larabar.
Dinner tonight was some new recipes, again from the 100 days cookbook. I tried the Tomato Bisque, along with Caesar Salad and we had Grilled Cheese Sandwiches. The soup recipe is also on her website (link above). I made it without the cream because I didn't have any. It was really nice but not overly tomato tasting. Next time I think I will try doubling the tomatoes and using a little less broth. The Caesar salad was delicious and very simple, and I made regular grilled cheese with whole grain bread, butter and cheddar. It was a really nice meal.
Didn't end up eating any snacks last night but I did have a cup of Mint Chocolate Chip Rooibos Tea with maple syrup and whole milk. It's a great dessert replacement :)
