I am going to continue following the real food ideas because when I was on the 100 days I felt better overall and lost weight. I just need some structure when I want to eat out in a restaurant or go to a friends house. I think I would be happy with an 80%-20% approach; 80% real healthy foods and 20% other foods. I really need to get back on track and I need to do it in a healthy way that works for me :) I will begin tracking and posting foods again because it helps keep me accountable. I will also keep trying new recipes because it helps me stay on track when food doesn't get too repetitive and boring.
I did the 100 days of real food challenge and managed to stick to it 100% and lose about 12 pounds in the 100 days. I really enjoyed the program but it does take a lot of time and effort and is more difficult to stick to 100% all the time. Even the 100 day real food site discusses having other foods in moderation. Well, it seems I have a great deal of trouble with the concept of moderation. Once I get a taste of the unhealthy foods such as deep-fried, chocolate, cookies, cakes, chips, etc... I tend to eat it all like there's no tomorrow. I have tried just having these items on the weekends but I usually still overeat a lot and also have food items creep in throughout the week as well. Now that's it's summer I want to be able to go to friends and families homes and take part in the dinners, BBQ's. parties, girl's nights, etc... but I want to still lose weight and eat healthy. I think it is unrealistic to make the decision never to have any junk food or unhealthy food ever again. I have realized that although I do not want to follow a "diet" anymore I am the type of person who still need rules and structure.
