Myself and Hubby 2014. Me at my heaviest at that point.
Tracking my weight loss
To help keep me accountable I plan to log my weight weekly.
I struggled a little with the idea of actually posting my weight on my blog. I usually have no trouble telling people what I weigh but taking a picture of the scales and posting for the whole world to see was a bit intimidating; but I did it :)
Update: More likely to weigh and share it monthly now instead of weekly :)

Dec 5, 2016: Making a few changes and will not be weighing in for awhile. I have still been weighing pretty regularly (even though not recording it here) and I keep moving between 192 and 194 over the last several weeks. No more weighing now for the month of December. The numbers on the scale have too much influence on my mood, and usually not in a positive way.
Sept 23, 2016: I weighed today even though I haven't been following any plan 100% this past week; and what do you know, I lost a little bit :) Very happy about that and will take any weight loss, no matter how small, as a major triumph. I have been trying to limit junk food and overly processed foods and did pretty well with that this week.
Sept 17. 2016: Finished almost a full week of Dr Oz. Day Off Diet. I followed this diet as written but didn't really lose any weight. I weighed again the next morning, after my splurge day, and I'm pretty much back to what I was when I started. Very frustrating. I am 99% sure it's an inflammation problem with me and weight; not that I necessarily don't lose it but my body is so inflamed it makes it much more difficult.
Sept 2016: So even though I gained lots of weight over the summer and feel really crappy, I still wasn't ready to commit two weeks ago. I am now. Here's to eating better, feeling better, and shrinking my butt :)
Aug 2016: Pretty much took the summer off from watching what I ate and weighing in. I overindulged way too often and ate lots of unhealthy foods. What do I have to show for it? A fatter ass and lots more weight to lose :( Very sad and upsetting but really shows me I can't simply eat what I want when I want :(
July 2016: I have been slacking greatly in tracking and posting my weight lately. In addition the battery in my scales died a couple of weeks ago so I haven't even been tracking anything for myself. I know I have been going up a bit as well lately and hoping I don't get a huge scare once I get back on the scales.
Apr 14, 2016: Seem to be sticking around the same 5 pound range. It seems if I don't eliminate almost all foods that I don't seem to lose any or very much weight. I really think it's a problem with inflammation and not actual weight/fat gain. I can be doing wonderful and have one meal or snack and actually go up several pounds. I am still trying to eat well and limit specific foods but may have to consider a bigger elimination approach again to try and identify food problems for me :(
Mar 14, 2016: I am up but it is not surprising after the last few days of eating I have had :(
Pretty much treated the last few days as the last supper for every meal, every day. Overindulged on everything: sandwiches, cheesecake, pizza, ice cream, chips, chocolate, cookies. Pretty much made myself ill. Not good, I know. Hoping I can get back on track and do what I need to so I can start feeling better again.

Feb 18, 2016: An early weigh-in :) I am very happy to see the scales moving in the right direction after only a few days of getting back on track with eating real food options.
Feb 15, 2016: Haven't posted my weight in a couple of weeks. Haven't been doing so great. This is after a week of eating lots of chocolate and cupcakes/cookies from numerous preschool Valentine parties. It's also after several weeks of trying to get back on track but not succeeding. Hoping to see a lower number next week.
Jan 27, 2016: Just getting back on track the last few days, changing up my Digestive Health elimination plan for an AIP plan :) Just means I get a few more veggies and now some fruit, so a little less restrictive which means a lot to me right now, but should still be helpful for feeling good overall. Although I didn't have a great week food wise, I still managed to lose some weight this week :) Yay! I'll take it.
Jan 20, 2016: Still having trouble getting back to a routine. Went totally off the wagon over the holidays and still not back on track but I am doing a little better this week. Still trying and that's what really counts right now. Down a pound from last week which is great but still need to lose a few more to be where I was before the holidays hit :)
Jan 13, 2016: Not doing so great since the holidays. Having a lot of trouble getting back on track and it is showing on the scale and in how I feel :( Seem to have lost my motivation and really need to get it back. I'm still trying. May not be 100% right now but not giving up :)
Jan 6, 2016: Starting to get back on track recently after the Christmas free for all :) I am down, yay! I am actually down more than this post suggests because I kept gaining the first half of this week. Went up to almost 171 by New Years :(
I am very happy to see the scales going in a downward direction this week though :) Now, just to get back to pre-Christmas weight and keep going again :)

Dec 30, 2015: A week of Christmas eating and gained almost 5 pounds; not good. I am also feeling pretty bad health-wise, and I'm not even eating as badly as I normally would. Yes, I am overdoing it on the chocolates big-time but I am still cooking many of my meals and mostly staying to my guidelines. I'm also still eliminating gluten, most grains and dairy. Sigh, at least this helps me see how bad I can feel when I start eating badly again, and it goes to show there are foods that do not agree with me.
Dec 23, 2015: Wow! Down another 2 pounds this week. That's almost 25 pounds down in 10 weeks. I am amazed. So happy with the results :)
Dec 16, 2015: Still headed in the right direction. It has been hard this week with lots of cravings and Christmas getting closer, but still managing. Down almost a pound this week though :) Yay!
Dec 9, 2015: Still doing great! It has been years since I have seen these numbers :) It hasn't been easy but it is doable. Over 20 lbs lost in 8 weeks. So happy and proud of myself. Now I just need to keep up my motivation and not let the Christmas season sabotage me.
Dec 2, 2015: OMG! I am in the 160's, finally. I don't know the last time I was at this weight. It has been several years. I have almost 20 pounds gone in 7 weeks; that is unbelievable :) Yay! So happy. Lost 2.4 lbs again this week, for a total of 19.2 lbs :)
Nov 25, 2015: Doing great with my weight loss and feeling so much better! I am down again this week; 2.4 lbs. That's a total of 16.8 lbs in 6 weeks :) Woohoo! I haven't been this low in just over a year. Feeling so great and so motivated.
Nov 18, 2015: Still doing well and still heading in the right direction :) Very happy with my results; very happy indeed. I am feeling much better as well :) I weigh less now then when I completed the 100 days of real food challenge 2 years ago. Woohoo!
Nov 11, 2015: Woohoo! Still heading in the right direction :) Four weeks on the elimination phase of my diet and down a total of 13 pounds. That's more than I lost during my 100 days on the real food challenge; lost 12 pounds during the 100 days. Can't believe it :) Very happy with the weight and very happy that I am feeling better; all of it helps with the motivation :)
Nov 4, 2015: I am still travelling in the right direction :) Three weeks completed of the elimination phase of "Digestive Health with Real Food" and I am down over 10 pounds. Down just over 2 pounds this week alone :) Very happy and even more motivated. In addition I am not as tired daily, I am sleeping better, my IBS symptoms have greatly improved, my knees have stopped aching, my feet don't ache as much, and my mood has improved :) Yay! Yay!
Oct 28, 2015: Week 2 on my elimination diet and I am down again! Lost over 3 lbs this week after losing 5 lbs last week. Total of 8.4 lbs in 2 weeks :) Yay! Very motivating along with feeling better.
Oct 21, 2015: I am still struggling and haven't been posting my weight here regularly although I have been weighing. I recently started a new elimination diet to hopefully figure out which foods are problematic for me and likely causing my inflammation. I started last week and when I weighed I was at my heaviest yet: 188 lbs :(
I weighed today and after only one week I have dropped 5 lbs :) Very happy with these results as well as feeling a little better. Keeps me motivated to continue on :)

Aug 27, 2015: Still struggling but not giving up. I have been up and down the last 4 weeks and figure I am only down today since I've barely eaten anything the last 3 days due to a tooth extraction.
July 30, 2015: I have been struggling with my weight and have been slowly going up again on the scales. I try not to let the scales discourage me too much as they are just a number, I try to focus on my health and how I am feeling, but it is very very hard. Over the last month I have hit 187 at one point. Today I was happy to see that at least I am heading in the right direction.
June 22, 2015: It has been awhile since I posted my weight here. I am still tracking it; I weigh pretty much daily and record it in a book; yes a little OCD :) I am pretty much up and down between 180 and 185. Today I am weighing in at 185.4, sigh. Can't seem to lose anything and keep it off. I am now seeing a homeopath and taking several natural supplements to see if anything helps. I am feeling better energy-wise and have less joint pain, now it's just to get these weight issues under control :)
Apr 26, 2015: It has been awhile since I posted my weight on here :(
I admit when I start gaining I find it harder to post and let everyone know I am not doing so well. After a lovely vacation of eating everything and then getting home to continue with that eating trend I am back up to almost where I was last January when I got started with all this real food and blogging. I am still sticking to the real food idea as I truly believe this is the way people should be eating, but I am taking steps to correct some issues health-wise; hoping this will make a difference.

Mar 16, 2015: Down a little from last week, so headed in the right direction. This is after a week of real food and grain-free, along with very limited dairy. I am feeling better so that's great; fingers crossed the weight loss will follow.
Mar 9, 2015: I haven't been tracking my weight weekly on here as I originally planned to do. I have been tracking it though and I have been pretty much hovering between 177 and 179. I did weigh today and am up exactly 1 lb since last month. I am wondering if I will see any weight loss next week after going grain-free. I lost weight before on just the real food eating but haven't this time around. Another reason I think there is something going on health-wise; along with feeling very unwell and having a multitude of various recurring symptoms.
Feb 9, 2015: So I stayed the same this week. Happy I didn't gain but not happy with these results. Not really losing anything now. I have made a doctors appointment to see if there's anything else going on. Looking back to when I started the beginning of January I have lost just over 3 pounds so that's something at least.
Feb 2, 2015: So, I am up again this week. Not very pleased. That's two gains in a month. Not sure what's going on. I am following my guidelines and eating well. I have noticed I am still not feeling great though, even with healthier food. I am very tired and achy. Feeling like I do when I tend to eat badly. Maybe a trip to my doctor is in order, see if I can find out what's going on.
Jan 26, 2015: Yay! Had a much better week weight-wise. I admit I was getting a little worried last week with a small gain. This week I am down 2 lbs and am very happy with that. I did well food-wise this week but it is so much better when your hard work shows through :) Again, I know scales are not everything but I need to lose weight so when it doesn't happen I get discouraged.
Jan 19, 2015: Still doing well food-wise but I am up this week. I will admit I am sad and disappointed to see a gain, even though it is a minuscule gain of 0.2 of a pound. Not sure what happened but hoping it's something simple like water retention and I will show a loss for next week.
Jan 12, 2015: Getting back on track and managed to lose over 2 pounds this week just by going back to a real food diet. There is no weighing foods here or measuring or counting calories. I eat when I am hungry and do not count number of meals per day. I eat full fat dairy. I eat meats. I eat grains, although whole grains. I do not eliminate any fruits or vegetables. I eat healthy fats and limit sugar to only honey or maple syrup. This way of eating really works :)
Jan 5, 2015: Well I managed to do a lot of damage these last few weeks :( Managed to put on 5 pounds in less than a month. No sense dwelling on it now. I am back on real food today and doing an 80 day challenge. The weight will start to come off again and I will feel so much better overall. (Sorry the pic is dark, it says 180.8)
Dec 15, 2014: Have not been tracking my weight weekly lately. Guess it's no mystery that I have gained :( Even though we try to stick to real food most of the time we are still eating out at restaurants way too much and are having more junk food than needed. Need to get back on track but it is hard and even more so this time of year.
Nov 24, 2014: Not losing weight like I want but not really putting in the effort lately either. Up a little again but have been sticking around this weight for months now; always up or down a little. Need to get focused and motivated and that will be even harder with the holidays fast approaching.
Nov 3, 2014: Down a tiny bit this week. Lost only 0.2 of a pound, but again it's in the right direction, and with 2 restaurant meals this weekend (both with dessert) and Halloween treats I will take any loss this week and be happy with it :)
Oct 27, 2014: Down a little this week which is great because it is in the right direction and I am still not doing so great with my eating habits; so I'll take any loss.
Oct 20, 2014: Wow, down this week and not really sure why. Weight is a funny thing. I weigh everyday just to see how I am doing and I have been up most days this past week, but this morning I am down 1 whole pound :) I'll take it :)
Oct 13, 2014: I am up this week, well since the last 2 weeks. Again, didn't post weight last week, Oops. Not surprised to be up with the extra's I have been eating and especially after eating a big meal out this weekend with drinks with Chef Michael Smith :) Still trying though and have some meals planned for this week.
Sept 29, 2014: Down a smidge but it's the right direction so I'll take it :) Haven't been able to get back to real food either. Seems I have a couple of good days and than off track again, sigh. Still trying though. Trying to eat better and feel better and the weight should follow :)
Sept 22, 2014: Somehow I have forgotten to log my weight from last week. Oops. Not sure what happened there and didn't even realize it until today. Not a big deal, back again now. I am down a smidge from 2 weeks ago. I'll take it because it is in the right direction but I really need to step it up and start trying harder again.
Sept 8, 2014: Another weigh day and down a little this week without too much effort on my part. That's different for me. Down 0.4 of a pound, not huge but I'll take it :)
Sept 1, 2014: Wow, it's September already. Today is a regular weigh day. I am up about 1 1/2 pounds this week but I have been eating some things I shouldn't be. We also had a BBQ last night with people in and had lots of food, drinks and dessert so expected to see a gain just due to last night. Trying not to let gains get me down and stay positive and continue on :) When I look back at my starting weight I am still down 13 pounds :) and I am proud of that :)
August 18, 2014: I have been doing the 10 Day Detox Diet since last Tuesday, today is day 7 following this plan and I am down a huge 5.2 pounds this week. Woohoo! Very happy. I am now less than what I was at the end of the 100 day challenge :) Very happy with these results just not happy that wheat or milk may be causing my weight problems and some health problems :(
August 11, 2014: So, restaurant eating is down this week and I'm getting back on track but still not 100% and I am down 2 pounds this week. I guess that helps a little with my big gain last week. Happy to be heading in the right direction again :)
August 4, 2014: I have always had trouble understanding how hard it is for me to lose weight but yet how easy it is for me to gain it. After a weekend of eating out in restaurants I have gained almost 3 pounds this week alone. (Friday night had nachos, Sunday lunch was a sandwich and cake, and Sunday night was poutine and dessert). Oh well, tonight is the last night we are going to George Street Festival and eating out yet again. Back on track tomorrow and see how many weeks it takes to lose what I just put back on :(
July 28, 2014: Surprisingly I am down 1 pound this week. This week has not been the greatest food-wise. I have struggled a lot and given into many cravings throughout the week. I was surprised to see the loss and very surprised it was a whole pound :) Yay!
July 21, 2014: I am down this week but only by 0.2 of a pound. I am happy it is in the right direction but not so happy with the amount. I had a really good week. My 2 cheat meals for this past week were food at the movies at the very beginning of the week and then some chips and chocolate last night. It does get discouraging, sigh, but I'm keeping with it.
July 14, 2014:I weighed this morning and was disappointed to see a small gain. I will be truthful and say that I considered not posting my weight this week. I understand the scales should not be that important but it is still disappointing. I have decide to try and stay positive. I think I had a pretty good week food wise and am not going to let this gain get me down. I will continue on and see how I do. If I continue to gain than I may have to change my cheat meals from 2 to 1, although this past week my 2nd cheat meal was only a little dark chocolate with cane sugar. We shall see. Fingers crossed this gain is due to hormones, water retention, inflammation, etc... and I will see a loss next week :)
July 7, 2014: First weigh day back on real food but modified to include 2 cheat meals per week. I lost but only 0.4 of a pound, but I am still happy with those results. I didn't think I would lose anything this week even though my second cheat meal was only about a half order of onion rings :) Yay! Moving in the right direction :)
June 30, 2014: I weighed this morning to get a starting weight again. I am back on real food, not 100% but pretty close. That is what really seemed to work for me so I'm back to it today. I tried the Beyond Calories and did lose 4 pounds in 10 days but then I went on a mini vacation for a long weekend in Toronto and put it all right back on :( I have no trouble putting the weight on that's for sure.
June 19, 2014: Today was my weigh day for the end of the 10 day Beyond Calories diet. I lost just over 4 pounds :) Not too bad but may have been better if I had stuck to it 100%. I am finally back to pre-vacation weight :)
June 9th, 2014: Today is the first weigh day of my new 10 day Beyond Calories diet. I will post my weight again in 10 days to see the results. This diet boasts large weight loss numbers in just 10 days, we shall see. I am also up half a pound from last weeks weigh in :(
June 1st, 2014: Weigh day is here again. I have had some difficulties getting back on track since our vacation which was over a month ago now. Seem to be doing better now. I've been up and down in my weight over the last month but will start tracking weekly again instead of monthly. Weekly seems to hold me more accountable :) So I am down just over 1 pound from the last entry here, which was after vacation. Now to get back to pre-vacation numbers and below :)
May 4th, 2014: Well, I did gain 5 lbs after our vacation. Not happy with that but it could have been worse. I am not 100% back on track yet but was down about half a pound this week. I have decided to start weighing myself once a month now. I think that will help me to not focus on the scale so much and more on how I am feeling overall. So starting now I will weigh the 1st of every month. My weight for today was 178.4 although I didn't take a picture.
April 13, 2014: Today is pretty much the last weigh day for our 100 day of real food challenge. Results are great :) We both lost again this week. I lost 0.8 lbs this week and Hubby lost 1.2 lbs this week. My total weight loss after 98 days is 12.4 lbs :) Hubby's total is 16.4 lbs down :)
April 6, 2014: After a big weight loss for both of us last week (likely due to stress and grief) I figured we would both be up this week. We both lost this week again. Hubby is down 0.8, for a total of 15.4 and I am down 0.2, for a total of 11.6.
March 30, 2014: It has been a hard week for us due to an unexpected death in our family. We are both down this week but I assume it is a weight loss due to stress and grief. I am down 2.6 pounds this week and Hubby is down 3 pounds. I figure these numbers won't hold and we will likely go up again in the next few weeks.
March 23, 2014: It was bound to happen eventually. This week I am up almost 1 pound :( I am not getting discouraged though. I know the scale is not the best judge of healthy weight loss. I am hoping that it will also be back down next week because my weight can fluctuate a lot on a daily basis. Hubby lost almost a pound again this week :)
March 16, 2014: We are both down again this week. I am only down 0.2 of a pound, that puts me at a total of 9.6 pounds lost...so close to 10, I'll have to fight to get there I imagine, it won't come easy, little by little :) Hubby is down 0.8 pounds this week, making his total an even 11 pounds gone :)
March 9. 2014: Woohoo! Another great week! I am down another full pound; for a total now of 9.4 lbs lost. I am actually finding it hard to believe that I have lost something every single week. I don't think that has ever happened before. Usually when I diet I lose something the first 1-3 weeks then I tend to maintain or gain a little and then often lose motivation. Hubby gained this week, but only 0.2 lb. He still has over 10 lbs gone in total. WOOHOO! Loving these results and the fact that it is not a typical diet of counting, weighing and measuring. We can pretty much eat anything we want as long as it falls into the real food rules :)
March 2, 2014: We have been doing the 100 day real food challenge now for 8 weeks and I have lost something every single week since we started. That's unbelievable. Both myself and Hubby are down again this week. I am down only a little, 0.2 lbs but it's in the right direction; total lost is 8.4 lbs. Hubby lost almost 2 lbs this week; total lost 10.4 lbs. Very happy with out fantastic results :)
Feb 22, 2014: We both lost weight this week! Woohoo! I am down another 0.6 lbs and Hubby lost big-time this week; he's down 1.6 lbs. Yay! We are both getting close to having 10 lbs gone each.
Feb 16, 2014: Losses for both of us again this week :)
I am down another half pound, and Hubby is down almost a full pound. Great results!
I am down another half pound, and Hubby is down almost a full pound. Great results!
Feb 9, 2014: Week 5: I lost another half a pound, for a total of 7 lbs so far. Hubby did great this week and lost 3 lbs; that was great especially since he gained a little the week before. He has lost more than 6 lbs now in total. We are both doing really well, feeling better, and very happy with the results so far even if it is hard at times :)
February 2, 2014: Week 4 and I am down another 0.4 pounds. I have lost a total of 6.4 lbs in 1 month, Woohoo! I am no longer in the 180's! I am very happy with this. It is not huge weekly losses but it is a healthy weight loss rate. Hubby gained a little this week but he still has more than 3 lbs gone overall. The weight loss is a great addition to the benefits of eating this way but we are mainly doing this to feel better and to limit the crap we were putting in our bodies that many people consider food.
January 26, 2014: Third week in and I am down another 2.6 lbs. That's a 3 week total of 6 lbs. These are fantastic results for me who often has a lot of trouble losing anything but no trouble finding weight :) Hubby is down as well, a total of 4.6 lbs, and he says his jeans seem less tight :)
January 19, 2014: Another week in and another week down in weight :) I am down almost half a pound and Hubby is down almost 1 pound. Not as much of a loss as week 1 but as long as it is not a gain I am happy with it. Especially when Hubby said it is not like a diet at all. We eat when we want and pretty much what we want.
January 12,2014: Woohoo! Week 1 and I am down 3 lbs. I'll take it :) Hubby is down 2 lbs :) Feeling great and definitely motivated to continue on.
For myself this is huge. I lose weight very very slowly. When most people say 1-2 lbs a week is a healthy weight loss I was lucky if I could lose half a lb a week, even with dieting and exercising on a program.

January 5, 2014: Weigh Day today! I am at my heaviest but am actually excited to get started and see this number start to decrease. Myself and Hubby weighed this morning. I will track my progress weekly and will note Hubby's weight loss as well.
