Day 13 AIEP & Game Night!

28/10/2018

Yesterday was day 13 of AIEP and we had our monthly game night at a friend's house. I wondered if I would continue following my guidelines or if I would have a slip or two. I did very well, no slips and still had a great night :) Yay!

Breakfast: Oatmeal with lots of great toppings of fruits, nuts, and nut butter :)
Snack: Larabar.
Lunch: We were out and about again and stopped to Mucho Burrito for lunch. I feel this fits into my guidelines as I get to pick and choose what goes into my bowl (no dairy, gluten. etc) but I'm not 100% if all the foods actually follow my guidelines for ingredients or when being cooked so I plan to stop eating it for now. I had a Chicken Bowl with lots of veggies, rice and quinoa, and beans. It was very good.

Supper: Leftover Turkey Taco Burrito Bowls from the day before. Still good but too much of the same type of food for one day.
Snacks for game night: I brought hummus and cucumber just in case but I didn't need to as they had lots of goodies I could enjoy :) Very thoughtful to make a point to have food for me knowing I was following my plan. I also didn't have any alcohol; hard when out socializing but very doable.

I am doing well and feeling better! What I am finding difficult are the routines you develop and look forward to and enjoy. For example, myself and Hubby run our errands and grocery shop on the weekend. When we do this we always stop for a coffee (tea for him). I usually get some type of flavored latte or cappuccino. Not now though as I can't have sugar, dairy, or soy; so pretty much eliminates this option. I admit I miss it and thought about having one this weekend, although I didn't, and I'm glad now that I didn't. It's not that I may never have one again, it's just for now it's off limits until I get my food and health straightened out.
Just want people to know that I do struggle and it's not easy but it is possible to eat better and feel better :)
Update: I found the ingredient information for Mucho Burrito and it looks like everything I have except for the Premium Veggie Mix, which contains soy, is all good :) Yay!

My name is Michelle and I am tired of struggling with my weight. I am stopping the struggle.
This blog began several years ago as a healthy lifestyle change (really, diets in disguise if I'm being totally honest). Now it is evolving into a non-diet blog and that makes me extremely happy.
I have recently started this new way of thinking. There have been some bumps in the road, it hasn't been easy, I still question, but I am still learning.
If you struggle with weight and have issues with food and body image than join me on my journey. Hopefully we can learn together :)
