I know exercise is a very important part of a healthy lifestyle and I am the first to admit that I have an extremely hard time with it. I don't overly enjoy exercising and find I am so out of shape now that everything has become a chore. I also have bad knees and a bad back (stupid getting older) and always worry about doing too much and hurting myself. When I start a workout program I tend to push myself too hard because I worry about not pushing myself enough. I often end up hurting myself and doing more harm than good. I decided to give yoga a try. I figure it's low impact and can be good for me overall. I found some great videos on line and there's one for complete beginners; that's me :) I did it today and plan to this one daily for the next week. It's a start :)
With a snowstorm here today I kept busy inside and made a batch of Granola and some Snowballs (the recipe calls them Chocolate Truffles but they look and taste like snowballs to me). Love the fact they are simple and only use 5 ingredients. Note: You need to melt the coconut oil first to be able to mix it. I just make it in a saucepan over low heat, it mixes togetherS better.
Breakfast this morning was whole grain toast with almond butter and strawberry jam I made yesterday :) I also had a Christmas Chai tea with maple syrup and whole milk. I know Christmas is over but this is one of my favorites :) |
I also had 2 cups of Feminini-tea with honey today. This tea is good for monthly symptoms girls, and I find it great. Two large cups of this tea today and I didn't have to take any pain relievers.
