Day 63 - Pub Food Outside the Pub :)

Breakfast today was a slice of whole wheat toast with almond butter and honey, a fruit salad, and my morning coffee (decaf).

Today we ran errands and stopped at the local Winter Farmer Market in St. John's. Hubby loved it because he bought Newfoundland sea salt with garlic (from Pure Sea Salt), a new meat seasoning (Moose Spice, not just for moose meat, from Newfoundland Seasonings), and some fresh cheese with pepper (Five Brother's Artisan Cheese). I bought some kale chips with "cheese" from The Real Food Market. First time I had kale chips, they were pretty good. Also they were "cheese" flavored but the flavoring was nutritional yeast and it was cheesy like. I ended up getting some at The Real Food Market today when we went by for some grass-fed local beef t-bones. I plan to try it on popcorn :) the nutritional yeast, not the beef :)

Lunch today was an egg in the hole. Simply an egg fried with whole wheat bread in some butter.

Second snack today was some dry roasted pistachios and a kiwi.
Dinner tonight was excellent. I admit both myself and Hubby have been missing pub foods and deep-fried foods. We did make nachos last weekend and they were excellent. Tonight we made oven-fries, roasted asparagus, and coconut shrimp. The whole meal was great but the shrimp were fabulous. Two of my favorite things: coconut and shrimp. They were great as a meal and would also work as an appetizer. So much better than the frozen ones I bought in the past. Much tastier :) Another keeper recipe.
The original recipe for the shrimp came from this paleo recipe site. For the fries, we use the recipe linked above mainly for the directions/technique portion. For the ingredients we only use the potato, olive oil, salt & pepper. I like my fries simple :)

My name is Michelle and I am tired of struggling with my weight. I am stopping the struggle.
This blog began several years ago as a healthy lifestyle change (really, diets in disguise if I'm being totally honest). Now it is evolving into a non-diet blog and that makes me extremely happy.
I have recently started this new way of thinking. There have been some bumps in the road, it hasn't been easy, I still question, but I am still learning.
If you struggle with weight and have issues with food and body image than join me on my journey. Hopefully we can learn together :)
