Day 74 of our 100 day real food challenge and still doing well. Breakfast this morning was my morning coffee along with a boiled egg, and granola with banana and milk. Snack today was some apple slices with my preschool kids :) Lunch was leftover pizza from last night. Even though the dough didn't rise it was still fine to eat :) Dinner tonight was a new recipe that I was really looking forward to but we ended up disappointed. I made Pasta with Garlic Cream Sauce along with a simple tossed salad. Thought it sounded delicious but it was far from it. First of all, it was suppose to make 8 servings but the sauce was barely enough for 4. I added roasted chicken (from the freezer) to it but it was still pretty bland. I was expecting a rich, creamy, tasty sauce but it was bland and the pasta dry because of the lack of sauce :( Oh well, better luck next time. Hubby didn't even finish his. he said it wasn't awful but he didn't want to eat it, sigh. So now I have lots of leftovers and leftover pasta because I cooked the full 8 servings. I'll put the plain pasta in the freezer with marinara sauce and voila, meals for later :) I'll end with a note on snacks. People have asked me about my snacking and have noticed that I don't snack a lot (not 3 a day)....oh but I do snack more than readers think. I'm not trying to trick anyone but I always write and post my daily blog after dinner, but I then often have an evening snack. Most nights I have something to snack on. It may be popcorn, crackers and cheese, crackers and hummus, chocolate, etc... but most nights I do have a snack but I have already posted my blog for the day so it kind of gets forgotten. So keep in mind I usually have an extra snack at night that is not totally tracked on my blog :)
