Day 9 of 10 on Beyond Calories

Meal 1 (2 foods from any group) I had an apple with almond butter. Almond butter is not listed as 1 of the proteins but almonds are and since I buy natural almond butter with only almonds as an ingredient I figure it is alright to eat :) Also had my decaf coffee with milk.

Meal 2 (2 protein) was a couple of fried eggs and some sliced cheddar cheese. Surprisingly not sick of eggs yet :)

Meal 3 (2 protein) was some roasted chicken and raw almonds. I am starting to get tired of chicken though :(

Meal 4, I combined meals together again. Instead of another 2 protein meal and a separate 3 vegetables meal I combined and had shrimp, Roasted Asparagus and Balsamic Tomatoes instead. I didn't use the sugar for the tomatoes and only baked them for 15 minutes; also used small cherry tomatoes. The shrimp were simply marinated in olive oil, garlic, red pepper flakes, salt & pepper. These shrimp were huge, nothing shrimpy about them, haahaahaa. I didn't even eat all of them on my plate :) Combining these meals allowed me to have preotein and veggies together but I didn't eat all the foods. I only had 1 protein (shrimp) and 2 veggies but it was enough.

Again I didn't eat meal 6 which was 4 more vegetables. Tomorrow is the last day of my 10 day cycle on Beyond Calories. I may try this again for another 10 day cycle, but slightly modified similar to what I'm doing now but even more so. I know I have lost weight, we will see the final results Thursday morning, but I find the diet really restrictive even regarding some healthy foods. I will admit though it has shown me I don't eat nearly enough fish or vegetables, and I definitely don't eat enough protein. I'm still unsure about the whole grains thing. Eat them, don't eat them, only eat whole grains, sigh. Who knows? Maybe my next topic will be the grain dilemma :)

Just came across your blog and am just starting the 10 day diet - if I choose almonds as 1 of my choices from a group - how many almonds can I eat. Thanks

Hi, if I recall correctly, that diet does not set food amount limits. It states you should eat an amount that leaves you satisfied and not over full, but keep in mind you are eating 6 times a day so you do not have to wait too long for your next meal. Hope this helps and good luck with it :)

My name is Michelle and I am tired of struggling with my weight. I am stopping the struggle.
This blog began several years ago as a healthy lifestyle change (really, diets in disguise if I'm being totally honest). Now it is evolving into a non-diet blog and that makes me extremely happy.
I have recently started this new way of thinking. There have been some bumps in the road, it hasn't been easy, I still question, but I am still learning.
If you struggle with weight and have issues with food and body image than join me on my journey. Hopefully we can learn together :)
