Breakfast this morning was my morning decaf coffee with just milk; I don't mind not having maple syrup in it so figure I'll keep doing that. I also had a slice of whole wheat bread (toasted) with almond butter. It was a nice change of pace from oatmeal.
So, I am trying to get back on track. I have been cooking dinners but am now trying to get back to real food throughout the day. I have found a new site that posts a lot of new recipes daily, and most look delicious. Just Eat Real Food seems to be a great page with lots of new recipes and info. I also had a slice of whole wheat bread (toasted) with almond butter. It was a nice change of pace from oatmeal. Lunch today was leftover fish tacos from the other night. I used the same Shrimp Taco recipe but used tilapia instead of shrimp. We didn't find them as good this time. Not sure if it was the fish choice (maybe too bland) or if the corn tortillas were a little stale. I added avocado to them for lunch but they weren't great. Dinner tonight was a bison burger again; these are delicious. These burgers are the PC brand from Dominion and they have very few ingredients and are great. I added tomato, spinach, cheese and avocado to my burger. They were also on whole wheat rolls but only 60% whole wheat :( We also had sweet potato fries as a side. I made a dessert recipe from the new site I mentioned above. I made the no-bake chocolate brownies. The picture looked great and all the reviews were excellent. I made them and they are good but a little odd. They are very chocolatey and rich but the banana taste is very strong. I found the banana and chocolate taste along with the dates in the crust and the orange in the topping a bit overpowering. Wondering if avocado may be a better choice instead of banana and/or maybe leave the orange out all together.
