I am the type of person that needs guidelines for my eating. "Just eat less" doesn't work for me and I have also found out that total deprivation really doesn't work for me. I have done several elimination diets for health reasons and they do help (although not 100%), but once I start eating off plan I really go nuts and run with it. Then can't seem to get back on track.
Started the DOD again today; Dr Oz's Day Off Diet. This plan seems doable for me. It has a day off a week so you can have foods you may be craving and you don't feel totally deprived. It also lets you plan for those special occasions that keep popping up and are an excuse to eat. It's focus is on real, whole foods and not replacement shakes or diet foods. I tried this plan a couple of weeks ago but wasn't really motivated. I was still in summer break mode and couldn't (or didn't) follow 100% even on the 1st day. I did much better today and am very proud of myself. I followed the plan and didn't have any cheat foods. I will admit I have been hungry but that is to expected after the way I have been eating.
Breakfast started with hot water and lemon. Next I had plain Greek yogurt with cinnamon and banana, along with a boiled egg and tomatoes. This will be a typical breakfast for me, or a smoothie. The fruit and veggies can change as well. Very flexible :)
